New York Halal Hotdogs

Manhattan, New York

A vendor sells halal food, hotdogs, pretzels, etc. in NYC on a chilly November evening.

I've seen lots of crêpe vendors (des vendeurs de crêpes) on the streets of Paris but New York takes it to a new level with their halal-hotdog carts that seem to be everywhere. I know the hotdog carts have been around for years, but I think the halal part is something relatively new.

  2. I think they are too! I must admit, I've had some of the tastiest things from NYC street carts. Love the b&w also!

  3. There's been quite a controversy here about halal meat (it seems most meat is halal now except that consumers don't know it...)

Fantastic shot, were you in ambush?

  4. Well composed and exposed; like the dark shadows of the foreground figures, and not over exposed on the hotdogs - nice one.

  7. Very nice photo. NY is a multiculturel city so I am not surprised to see they sell halal food.

  8. La photo est vraiment superbe! Pour ce qui est de la viande, j'ai une opinion plus nuancée.Gros problemes avec ça ici.

  9. Great lighting and the black and white is perfect for the atmosphere. Love the guy's lit half face behind the dark front figure and the rising steam. Really great shot!

  10. I like the shots from daily life or in this case night life.
The B&W makes it a bit timeless. Nice one but now I am curious to a not so nice one because your pictures are always good.
