Very interesting shot. We have Sienna on our list for our trip to Italy next year. I didn't know about the statue of Romulus and Remus. I must tell my husband.

The She wolf with the twins... symbol of Siena! It is said that one of the twins' son started the town.
Beautiful composition!

With heat and humidity grapevines should be wonderful to photograph...

The town square is a piece of art work in it's own right. Perfectly photographed in B&W in the rain.

Siena and the campo are simply wonderful, Lick a gelato and lounge on the bricks in the centre, watching all the little toddlers run around and graze their knees.

Lovely shot, made perfect by the couple with the umbrella.

Love all the geometric and linear elements and angles in this composition. That tile work on the ground is amazing! It makes me wonder at the mathematic precision of mankind. The two dark figures walking under the umbrella and the one small white one in the background balance the frame out beautifully. The image just wouldn't be the same without those figures.

Was in that very spot just a few short weeks ago; sigh...
