Venice, Italy (An amazing place)
"La Salute" built in 1687
"The Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute (Basilica of St. Mary of Health), commonly known simply as La Salute, is one of the largest churches of Venice and has the status of a minor basilica. It stands in a prominent position at the junction between the Grand Canal and the Bacino di San Marco on the lagoon."

Venice, lovely city. We were there a couple of years ago and would love to g again. Florence and Venice, tow lovely cities for walking and stopping for a coffee. Not to mention carrying an old 35mm camera, wide angle lens and a few rolls of FP4.
And so begins the dream..
Beautiful shot in the fog James.Only I have the feeling it could be also Paris or an other European city. Of course if you know the church you say Venice otherwise I don't know.
An amazing photograph from an amazing place James.

Stunning BW James!
I hope one day to get half as good photographer as you are. ;-)
Unusual view from the street side and not from the Grand Canal's side.
Very, very nice photo!
I see it WAS a great vacation. Amazing image. Love the black and white for the fog. Thanks for your visits. Looking forward to seeing amazing images from you!!

Gorgeous!!
How beautiful. Love the 3 lamp posts reflecting in the street. Such a unique take on this scene. Once again, I get the feeling of a still from, this time, a classic old Italian film. That lone figure with the glowing head in the lower left is so marvelously intriguing. My wild overactive imagination races...
This is a wonderful ageless b/w classic. The composition has detail and interest with the figure on the left and the two shadowed figures. This is fabulous!

What an amazing photo James! Whenever I see one of your great black and white photos, I'm reminded of that one with the Amish (I think) boy riding the wagon with the huge horses. That one is still one of my favorite photos ever! (by anyone).
A moody shot of the minor basilica in fog... works wonderfully in monochrome, James. I got to the edge of Venice a couple of years ago when driving from Côte d'Azur to Vienna, but it was raining so hard my mother and I decided to turn back and continue driving north.
Utterly beautiful how it looms out of the fog.
