We have such wooden piers only on french west coast, so not around here. And they fascinate me , 'cause there's always a strange and attractive mood around them, especially for photographers..Do I need to say that I LOVE this picture?..
PS: if you did not yet, please see woody Allen's movie "Midnight in Paris", you'll ADORE it! It is made for you!
Great shot as usual, I'm not sure if I'll be clear, but there's a movement feeling here, like an old memory, or a part of a movie. Have a good weekend James. :)
Marvelous capture, James! There is something soft and slow and somehow mysterious about the shot as a whole -- but of course, I'm a mystery lover, so I probably see things that aren't there! Whatever, it's terrific! Have a great weekend!
Ooooh James love this black and white. There is a pier similar a few towns up; I must make a visit now that tourist season has come and gone. Fantastic image. You are the master.
OMGoodness.....I adore the perspective of this one. Having grown up around ocean piers, I really do enjoy seeing photos of them. So many are shot directly from the side or from underneath...love the way you took yours. Stunning shadowy reelections. Kudos!

Effective black & white shot, it would not be the same at all in colour.
Very nice James! Great black and white.

Have a good weekend James. :)
Very beautiful James. Nice choice of POV.
The soft and slow motion flow of the water created a great reflection of the pier!
A beautiful place to take picture at the end of the day!
Have a nice weekend!

What a superb angle to capture this interesting wood pier and its reflection, and I like it in monochrome!
Just stunning.
Nice angle to shoot the pier. Very artistic.

I love it!
I really love the light in this pic.
Beautiful light, and the reflections are so good. That's quite a pier!

One of my favorite places! Love how you got so much detail even with the back lighting and a very dramatic composition. I feel the ocean beckoning...
Wow fantastic. Something archaic and somewhat mysterious about old docks. Love it.
Stuck in a dream - and the water's gone viscous.
· Fantastic Black and White. I love this great perspective.

Have a nice and happy week****
Nice mood to this. I like how the darkness blends into the black of the background. Gives the picture edges a ragged look and strikes a mood.
I've got a linen postcard from the 40s that features New Pier at Oceanside (with cars parked around and underneath).
This reminds me of it a bit. Nice shot. :-)
Really nice picture!
