Pinche Peggy and the Vatos

Santa Ana, California  (The car is named Pinche Peggy)

I don't see as many lowriders as I used to back in the 1970's.

"All my friends know the low rider
The low rider is a little higher
Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer
Low rider knows every street yeah!
Low rider is the one to meet yeah!
Low rider don't use no gas now
Low rider don't drive to fast
Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip and see
Take a little trip
Take a little trip
Take a little trip with me"
~Low Rider by War  (1974)

I love the first shot James, it's FANTASTIC!!!
The colours, the composition and the atmosphere are perfect!
You should send it to a photo contest, it's one of my favourites here. :)

Love it! That lead sled is awesome!
Reminds me of my youth in North Town (North Long Beach). In the mid sixties there, it was all low all the time. I owned several of them (not all at one time).
49 chevy
54 chevy
56 chevy
All lowered.
Great photo James...

Awesome colours in this picture, the red and yellow and the soft green fit together perfectly. Love hot rods too...

Love the top shot, the colours are more saturated; want to see this boy take a speed-bump.

The car is so low how could it be driven?
It is a cool car though. It must be on lifts. The photos take in a lot, plenty to feast the eyes on, and the colors zing.

La carrocería es un poco grande, no?
Me gustó.

Muy buenas fotos.

Un abrazo.

Incroyable!
Unique James. I suffer for all these low riders when they have to stop at a grocery store in a strip mall with all the bumps. And California roads are not made for this kind of cars, that's for sure.

Oh yeah! That's pretty awesome. I too love the colors, and I love the way the 2 trees anchor and frame the scene on the first image. A really great moment. For some reason, I sense a feeling of contentment...

This a very low low-rider. I haven't seen one in ages, but I remember seeing them in California and in Baja. Not 'way south in Baja where the roads get bad, but lots of them in Mexicali.

Thank you for explaining Vatos.I had two ideas in mind: the two spanish men OR it could also have been the name of the group singing the song! :o). I perfectly see the idea. Les "mecs " is good, but not "spanish" enough( I'm impressed that you konw the word mec! )
Bon week-end, cher ami américain!

I think that low rider would have problems on the roads around here!

That looks like the body is resting on the tires. Can it be driven? I don't think it has enough ground clearance to drive of er a gum wrapper. To each his own I guess.

not a real car?

I am not an American, so the offending comment isn't targeting me, but I think it is very rude of him to promote his offending ebook this way.

Something WELL sighted! So cool... both the low rider and the vatos. The colors sing.

[The word verification is irksybr - almost longer than my comment. :-( The first four letters says it all. LOL!]

These are amazing shots but now we can't get the song out of our heads.

Great stuff James. I don't see the point to low riders. California ok but can you imagine riding one of those things in rain or snow? I couldn't even get one onto my driveway.
