Ku Hoe He'e Nalu

Corona Del Mar, California

I took this photo of sun setting over Newport Beach last night.
I thought the guy on the paddle board and the pelicans looked pretty cool as silhouettes.

Hoe Nalu "Paddle Surf"
The Hawaiian translation is Ku Hoe He'e Nalu; to stand, to paddle, to surf, a wave.

This is my Watery Wednesday post.

  1. Lovely photo - the sunlight reflection on the water is fabulous and I agree, the pelicans make fabulous silhouettes and instantly draw your eye to them.

  8. It's really nice, I think you have a second shot there. The silhouette of the pelicans on the rock might make for an interesting crop.

    MIST ON THE OCEAN

    Mist on the ocean,
    Mist on the sea,
    Mist on the meadow,
    Mist on the tree;

    Dew on the grasses,
    Dew on the rose,
    Dew in the garden,
    Dew on my clothes;

    All of this wetness,
    It’s plain to see,
    Promises blessings
    For you and me!

  25. This is a scene that looks like home to me, James. Beautifully captured. The gold color and silhouettes are so soothing. [I am in Romania on a work project. It has been an amazing experience. Will be flying back to PI this coming Friday, and I anticipate my posts will then return to the more "exotic" scenes of Asia... or a mix... ;-) Trust your move has gone/is going smoothly. I will need to move house too when go home and am not looking forward to the packing and moving!]
