Happy Hour

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

It was late in the day and people were walking from offices to bars and restaurants. It was a time of transition.
This is my photo for The Weekend in Black and White.

  7. I LOVE the cut on this photo, James!! You can sense the 'happy hour' mentality in their steps...happy hour...is there any better hour than that???

  8. Beautiful job James... reminds me of one or two of Garry Winogrand's street photos from long ago, always loved his work. This is really excellent; such deep deep black there in the backlit walkers.

  9. Fabulous... actually, Owen, I was thinking Cartier-Bresson. Love the '40s feel of this one.

  20. The shadow may be the depicter who hid chance.
Particularly, the shadow of a person lets me rouse imagination.

Thank you for a quiet time.
