Don't Mess with Prague Castle

This is the top of the gate at Prague Castle's main entrance. The President of the Czech Republic is beyond these gates and if the statues don't scare away intruders the armed guards below the statues probably will. I read that Prague castle was established in the 9th century. I wish that I knew when these statues were built.

By the magic of photography we can jump from California to Prague. I was just thinking how cool it would be if a far away strangers recognized themselves in my pictures. I wonder what the odds of that would be.

Artsy Reflections

This close up shows even more reflections including a big tree, the sky and maybe even me right side up and upside down.

This is a reflection of the courtyard and fountain next to the Santora Arts Building in Santa Ana California.
There is an old building that houses a sort of co/op for artists and there are restaurants and an art school near by. All of this is surrounded by an impoverished area with a high crime rate.

There are lots of reflections if you look for them.

Fading Daylight at the Newport Beach Pier

One storm just ended and another one was on the way. So I had to hurry to get pictures before the sun went down and the rain started again. There's some picture noise but it pretty much looked like this when I took the picture. I made it just in time.

A Vain Weather Vane

Space Invaders

Space Invaders was a video game that was popular in the late 1970's. This is an unedited photo taken at the end of the Huntington Beach pier. The hazy sky gets very dramatic when the sun settles behind Catalina Island. The oil rig in the foreground reminds me of a character from Space Invaders and the orange glow adds to the other worldly feel. There's also a few ufo's/seagulls flying around out there too.

I took this shot in Huntington Beach on the day we arrived in Orange County. The setting sun over the water creates interesting lighting. This bird was very good at catching the nuts that the man was tossing. If you enlarge the picture you might be able to see one in it's mouth.

I just wanted to post a few of the pictures that I took yesterday and today. We are back in Orange County. It feels strange to be wearing short sleeves in the winter after all of the cold weather in Newtown.

I hope these pictures look okay since they are right out of the camera and this monitor is tiny.

It rarely rains in O.C. but as luck would have it, it's going to rain every day next week. So it should be interesting taking pictures. Thankfully I already took a bunch, I just hope they're good.

The top picture isn't a reflection but the bottom two have reflections. I took some reflection pictures last night that are really cool. I just hope the turn out okay.

Cool Shadows

Don't try to use this fire escape.





I kept noticing people walking on the vertical shadow lines. I wonder if it was a subconscious attempt to be orderly.

"Regrets, I've had a Few"

I went looking for reflections on Thursday, when I stopped to look at a dirty old window I saw this guy looking straight through me. As if he was reflecting on all of his past mistakes. So I set my camera to blur the reflections and focus on him. Since there are still subtle reflections I decided to use these pictures for Weekend Reflections.
