Shop until Your Legs Fall Off?

I was bored while waiting for a flight at the Brussels airport. I wish I would have tried a few more shots or at least waited a second or two before I took this one. The neon sign reflected on the floor is timely but the poor man's legs are cut off. Maybe he's in the process of spending an arm and a leg? :) Personally I'm not much of a shopper but I hear there are quite a few out there.

Have a great weekend and I hope you enjoy Weekend Reflections.

  2. My hubby, who used to be a professional photographer, would no doubt scream at the legs cut off... but I can't say in this case that it bothers me at all... adds to the surrealness of the shot, somehow. Like you, I don't shop. PS. I was wrong, he did not mind the legs not there either.

  3. I really like this shot, but have to admit, I was squinting to decipher it, until I read your explanation.

  4. Great reflection my friend. I wouldn't have even noticed the legs if you hadn't said something. I think this is perfect myself :) Very well done. Have a great Friday :)

The shot is interesting and surprising, and the man is even a little scary. He gives a meaning to the shot.

  10. C'est beau cette image ! On a un léger flottement avant de trouver la limite entre le reflet et la réalité.

  12. I love this photo. When I see this photo at first I was drawn to the neon light and not the man. Great shot! Thanks for sharing!

  15. If you had moved the camera down to get in the man's legs, you might have cut off the most important element in the image, that of the red Shop reflection. Given the choice, you certainly made the best one! Plus it adds to the scale and surreal quality. I think it's fun when an image confuses our senses. We try to make order out of it. It says a lot about our minds and thought processes, how we see and process our world.

  16. This shot does take some study to understand exactly what is going on...my question, at first, was why the word "shop" was backwards...must be a reflection. But, the scene looks so real...I think the composition, as it is, is excellent!

  21. But if that is the floor, then the photo is upside down ? In which case, he may be a double amputee who was walking on his head ?
