Louvre Reflections

Here's another photo that I took with my pocket camera. It's really easy to use at night and I don't worry so much about it getting wet when it rains. This particular night was cold and windy but the rain stopped long enough for me to get some nice shots.
You may notice more night photos here because I recently decided to try it and now I find it almost addicting. It's really enjoyable to experiment and learn new things about photography.

This is my post for Weekend Reflections. If you would like to post a reflection or see other reflections just follow the link.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Gorgeous! I want to get a P&S camera because it is easier to use for night photography, no worries about the setting and tripod.

This will be my xmas present for me.

  4. To take pictures at night also means 'to be outside" at night.. Maybe the real source of your addiction? At night things and places become different, and all seems to become magic. The prove with this wonderful picture!

  8. Gorgeous, magical, extraordinary... I can't find the right word to describe what I feel when I look at this one...

It is just Like that I remember the Louvre : It was my favourite place in Paris for years... I specially enjoyed to stay at the "Cour Carré", so quiet and so peaceful, right in the middle of Paris, and so magical with all thoses lighting by night...

You did catch it perfectly, James, Bravo.

  23. This is just so awesome. I like night shots as we don't get to see them as often and it gives a different mood to the experience. Especially a wet, cloudy night such as this. Can't wait to see more!

  24. That was a special Louvre shot indeed. You go a lot to Paris, for work I imagine? I do too once in a while anyway. A really unique city.

    Have an excellent weekend, James!

  26. I will be there in two weeks and staying very close by. It will be a perfect opportunity for night shots as the sun sets so early. I always take a p&s with me in case of heavy rain. The p&s works perfectly under those circumstances. I only hope that my photos are half as wonderful as this!

  30. James, you've turned your hobby into quite a stunning body of ARTwork! I love these photos! Not sure if you got my message that I sent by phone, but it was great hearing about the man with the blue jewel - that I hadn't overlooked the plaque - and it was a fun connection. Thank you!
