Rue Montpensier at Night

This is the view looking to the right just outside of our apartment door in Paris. If we go out of the other door we are in the Palais Royal courtyard. The crowds come and go from the Palais Royal Theatre deep into the night. I'm glad that I always travel with ear plugs. Other than a little noise this is a wonderful place to stay.

A Photo from Pont Alexandre III

I was on Pont Alexandre III in Paris when I took this photo. The bridge in the distance is Pont des Invalides. This is my Sunday Bridges post.

Bruges Reflections

I was lucky to get this shot because we were literally running to catch the train back to Brussels. It was at the end of a cloudy day in Bruges Belgium and the sun decided to pop out just before it set. I guess it's because of the lighting but this reminds me of a painting.

This is my Weekend Reflections entry.

4 Boats and 4 Ducks on Lake Lucerne

There were lots of weather changes on our trip. There was light fog when I took this shot.
Our hotel in Lucerne had wonderful views and it was right on the lake. Normally there were swans all around but this time the ducks had the place to themselves.

This will be my Watery Wednesday entry.

Louvre Reflections

Here's another photo that I took with my pocket camera. It's really easy to use at night and I don't worry so much about it getting wet when it rains. This particular night was cold and windy but the rain stopped long enough for me to get some nice shots.
You may notice more night photos here because I recently decided to try it and now I find it almost addicting. It's really enjoyable to experiment and learn new things about photography.

This is my post for Weekend Reflections. If you would like to post a reflection or see other reflections just follow the link.

Have a great weekend!

A Little Romance in Père Lachaise Cemetery

I guess they don't call it French kissing for nothing. I'm always amazed by the amount of kissing that goes on in Paris. I'm also amazed by the amount of smoking but that's another story.

I met up with my blogger friend Owen for a day of picture taking in and around Père Lachaise Cemetery. Owen is originally from Pennsylvania but now he's a French citizen and lives just North of Paris and I bet he didn't even notice this scene. :) We spent hours taking pictures and we had a wonderful time. Then we had dinner at restaurant called Le Relais de l'Entrecôte. I liked it so much that I ended up going two more times with Vicki.

Owen has an amazing blog called MAGIC LANTERN SHOW.

An Old Street in an Old Town

This is a street in Lucerne Switzerland's old town. I took the shot with my new little Canon powershot s95 camera. This was my first trip to Switzerland and I fell in love with it's charming beauty. Vicki had been a few times as a child but she fell in love too.
We stayed in a wonderful hotel called the Lucerne Grand Hotel National. It's a grand old hotel in a great location right on the lake, but we chose a "city view room" on the 5th floor with a view of the cathedral. We had a great stay and we enjoyed lots of good food.
I sure hope that I'm blessed with another visit someday.

Following the Leader in Paris

Hello to all of my blogger friends! It was a wonderful vacation but it's great to be home. I have lots of photos to go through and post. I took pictures all over Paris France, Brussels and Bruges Belgium and Lucerne and Zurich Switzerland. It may take a little while to update my header photo and get back into my normal blogging routine because I'm trying to get a few other things done around here too. I can't wait to post my photos and catch up on your your blogs so it probably won't be too long. :)

I was walking on the Allée des Cygnes on the Isle de Grenelle in Paris when I took this picture. It looked to me like the statue of liberty is walking and the lady and her dogs were following.
Well maybe the lady and two out of the three dogs. What do you think?
