A Simple Timeless Place

Sometimes I feel like I'm looking through a window into the past when I walk around this old farm. Was this the site of a revolutionary war or civil war battle? I doubt it, but I bet this barn and the farmhouse next to it where around during the civil war and maybe even before.

This is the other side of the "Home of the Vultures".

  1. Old barns, they always work. Was it filtered for the vignetting?

  2. The site will be what you want it to be: That's the power of imagination. The beautyful way you show the place already means that you have your own view on the question..:)

  4. Loved this. Don't you wonder how many faces have looked out of that window at the top of the barn? It would be so neat to have a timelapsed shot of all the faces peering out of it over time.

  5. Great depth of field, again, on this one! I feel transported to another era entirely. This shot invites you into the scene, back in time, to listen to the secret whispers of earlier travelers.

  6. You have to wonder how many owners have worked in that barn...how many families have been raised running around those fields...wow! Timeless, for sure! Beautiful, James.

  9. It looks like the field was worked recently so the building in the photo is not on an abandoned farm. Really nice spatial use.

  10. Especially with your photo in monochrome, it sure looks like it could be that old!
