La Silhouette d'une Libellule

The sun was shining toward my camera through the tree branches so I suppose this would be considered a Contre-jour photo. The dragonfly was up in the tree but thankfully I had my telephoto lens.

Very creative shot, almost scary, but then beautiful at the same time.

The little one seems to be waiting for something..The B&W gives a strange strength to the picture!

You make a dragon fly interesting, not just an insect.

That's an excellent shot. They are so hard to photograph and you did it so very well.

Thank goodness you had your telephoto with you. This is THE most unique dragonfly, or insect shot for that matter, I've ever seen. It is so artistic and beautiful. The framing created by the branches and the large negative whitespace behind the branch and dragonfly is superb!

You made me look up that fancy term for back lit James. This image is a terrific composition and a marvelous B&W 'print.' The silhouette, especially the delicate wings is wonderful.
