Don Giovanni

A sign for a marionette theater

Il Commendatore statue at the Estate theater
The world premiere of Mozart's Don Giovanni was at the Estates theater in Prague in 1787. The theater is still around and so is the opera in one form or another.

  4. For a reason I don't understand, I don't like marionettes, they disturb me.
BUT I adore the statue of the "Commandatore" (we say Commandeur in french).I'm sure that His soul is floating in the air in the whole city..

  7. What a beautiful picture with the colors but I like the second one. I just love that statue right there. It looks like he's guarding the theater. I love it :) Rabbit, Rabbit

  9. This sculpture seems to be a genuine human being. A soul is put there.

  10. Creepy! And so fun too. I'd love to bring my older brother to the marionette museum — he's been scared of marionettes since he was a kid! [evil grin]

I feel like a neanderthal. I've never seen a performance of Don Giovanni!
