Baby Egret adopted by a Pelican Family

When I took this picture I didn't even notice the baby Egret, now I think he's the star of the show. That's pretty cool nest too.

-Note: I changed the title of this post thanks to a couple of astute commenters that caught my mistake.

Sweet and lovely!

The little white bird appears to be pouting. Maybe it's feeling sad because it has NO neck compared to the pelicans? What a cute pic this is!

I love this picture. I'm sorry to say that I've never seen a Pelican in person but I'd like to.

Awesome photo! The wooden baby Pelican is kind of "stoolpigeon"? However, his back door looks like a mail box. :-)

They all seem to protect the baby!
And isnt it a wooden pelican on the right, like a sign to say it's a place for them?..

I look like a small village when I replace Pelican with a human being.
It is a pretty hut.

They all look a bit 'down in the mouth' today.

The baby Pelican looks so sweet as the Egret and his parents watch over him. Nice roost shot, James. You have a great eye.

Four pelicans and an egret. That's a nice combo.

Very nice! I suppose this proves that "family" is however you choose to define it....

I think it's the same egret I've captured last week. We'll see and compare it later when I post it. This is from the roof of that crab store, right?
