Looking through the Trees and into the Valley

I had no idea what I would find when I went to Valley Forge for the first time. This felt like a moment of discovery for some reason. The sun was in a really bad position so I'm happy that these pictures are usable. I used the trees to block as much of the sun as possible.
I'm trying to rest my bad back again and I hope to be back in full blogging mode by tomorrow.

Fantastic shots! Don't you *love* when the sun doesn't cooperate?

I hope you're feeling better soon!

It's like you can almost see all those militia people there. Wonderful photos my friend :)

My first thought when I saw the top photo was that it reminded me of the Dunker church on the battlefield at Antietam. I was there some years ago, and the small white wooden church on its own looked a little like it. Are the buildings associated with the history of Valley Forge?

I love these kinds of shots through tree branches, etc. I took a lot of them this summer while visiting the eastern Sierra and eastern Yosemite! These are dynamite and I hope you feel like dynamite very soon! Take care...

I like the composition of the photo. Excellent work on using the tree to block the sun. Do you have a filter for your camera?

Your pictures are so peaceful! They make me think of the paintings of an american painter, I do' remember his name, but he died not so long ago. The same quality of light, rural places, quiet scenes..

Please take a rest! You must remember that Europe is waiting for you!

I had two thoughts when I saw the first photo: That's nicely framed and it sure looks like Valley Forge.

For the first time in my life I was right the first time!

Get well!
