A Colorful Crossing

Come take a walk with me in Washingtons Crossing Pennsylvania, very near the New Jersey border. A great place for reflections.

What is real and what is a reflection on the water?

I've been told that the area around here was rated in the top ten for the most scenic drives in the world by a Conde Nast writer. Now I can see why.
As I walked along this stream the other day I was overwhelmed by the colorful beauty that was all around me. At some spots the reflections were so vivid that It seemed like I could walk across the water on them. I was blessed to have this place all to myself.

I will post more watery reflections from this day on my Newtown blog next Friday.

Please checkout my Newtown blog to see more Weekend Reflections from me and others, or to add your own reflection photos every Friday through Sunday.

  11. Very busy pictures. There is so much going on in them it is hard to process what is real and what is reflected. Very nice shots.

  12. Beautiful James. When I see these I really miss the East coast and the fall color. (Then I think about the snow, and stop missing it fast lol). Great reflections, it is hard to tell what's real from what's reflected. Kathy

  15. It does seem like you could walk across the water, James. I think George Washington could have used that kind of help :)

  18. Beautiful! Sounds like a perfect place for quietly reflecting on God's blessings too.

Let me slather on some insect repellent and I'll be right with you…

  19. We're getting lost with you through this whirl of colors, textures, and feelings..Each picture looks like a strange painting, like if the artist could not control his inspiration anymore...

BTW, what is this beautyful poem/text/song you left on my bench blog? I thought that maybe it was something said in the movie, but, as I saw it only in french, I don't recognise it...

I see a stone in the bottom of the river clearly.
    Water is transparent.
