Creepy Wall

When I walked by this wall I barely noticed it, but upon closer inspection the faces where pretty interesting and creepy. After a little investigation I learn that this is the work of Andrew Leicester. This is only half of what's left of this piece. I think this and other works around here have been vandalized.
I think the building on the left is a yacht club on the right is a tugboat and a barge and if you look closely you can see Camden New Jersey straight ahead.

  1. It is eerie to say the least. I think the vandalism adds even more spookiness to them. Great photo :) Aloha

  2. Is it some kind of slave-memorial art? It sure is mucho creepo even though it could almost pass as kids climbing thingy when I see the whole of it.

  4. I guess the total work was a boat carrying slaves?..Vandalism is always shocking, and even more when it's against art!At least, this last half will stay in your pictures.

  6. Thanks for the link to this artist's other works. Found it extremely interesting. Such a shame when things are vandalized like this piece was.

  7. Interesting but not a wall I would want to walk by on any given day. Too bad about the vandalism.

  10. Hi James,
You're right. The faces are a bit creepy. But it's a shame that they've been vandalized.
Anyway I agree with Ebie: You ha a good eye for interesting subjects-:)

    Best regards and Happy Sunday,
    Asta

  11. These are great shots James. The vandals did justice to the sculptured heads though it is not commendable for what they did. It's the result that came out good in the picture. More arty to me than creepy. :)

  12. James, I am so into creepy goodness at the moment. Thanks for giving me a hit of it! Sorry that people are trying to destroy it. What is wrong with people?
