Something Sighted

While standing on the shore of the Delaware river in the town of Bristol Pennsylvania I spied a riverboat and a very tall spire on the other side. I later found out that the town on the other side is Burlington New Jersy. The riverboat is called the Liberty Belle and can be seen here. The church with the tall spire is Saint Mary's and it can be seen here.

"B" is for Bristol and Burlington.

I like the mood of your picture, those wonderful grey clouds , the silhouette of the town through the trees on the other shore..The view can be a hope or a promise..

How did you get this very interesting effect? I'll check back on your comments in case you want to describe the process. Great post!

Hello Granny Smith, I have "Elements 7" photo editor and I went into "lighting effects and played around with spotlight and voilà.

If you need more details I would be happy to help.
I am however just a beginner myself.

Highlighting this photo like you are looking through a spy glass is brilliant. And making it black and white makes it even more spyish (if that's a word) LOL. Excellent :)

Hi James,

This picture is so cool. I agree with Thom. It's exactly as if you've been looking through a spy glass. Amazing!

Best regards
Asta

I particularly like the "I spy" aspect.

Yes, I did visit St Mary's and riverboat Liberty Belle. Both are interesting places to see. When can I ever go back to see America again? I met one lady University Professor from Delaware in 2005 during the ISP Convention.

And you did justice in highlighting your subject in circle. Makes a classic effect to the picture.

The spyglass effect makes it feel quite spooky. I wonder how many riverboats are called Liberty Belle, I would like to ride on one sometime.

There must be something mysterious going on in that riverboat. At least somebody hanging from that buyo.
